Elder Williams: Words from DC: 92. Alexis Kaegi →
elderericwilliams: Outside of our brief meeting at the Snow Cup, my interactions with Alexis have been surprisingly limited. Of course I met her through Quidditch, which, from what I remember, was even before the founding of BYU Quidditch. In fact, I believe the first time I met her was a result of the Quidditch… One of my two original captains in the sport, along with Jen.

quidditchplaybook: So you’re in the heat of a match. You’re playing seeker and arriving back at the pitch. Lets say the snitch is wide open for a grab but what is the best case senario for your team? Do you grab it and potentially win the game or do you wait and fend off the other seeker to…

A Tale of True Class and Sportsmanship
You may recognize the team in this picture as being Miami.  You may also recognize the seeker I am grappling with here as David Moyer.  Unfortunately, what you probably don’t know is that one of the finest examples of sportsmanship at the entire World Cup came from David, and almost nobody knows about it. Miami caught a lot of flak for their handling of the Bowling Green game protest. ...

thedashingseeker: Nearly every team has one. A player that can shoot any shot, make any beat, or catch any snitch. I am talking about the gingers of quidditch. During my time playing quidditch, an associate of mine and I have noticed a distinct positive correlation between a player’s skill level and the redness… In my totally unbiased opinion, this is 100% true and factual.

Seriously, when Benny and Mitch are the voices of reason and sensibility on a thread, something is majorly wrong.  I don’t even understand what the heck is going on there right now.  Seems like it’s all about ego on there right now.  People don’t wanna admit that maybe they stepped over a line, so they’re just further angrily attacking people.  This isn’t what...

Everybody, there was a tournament in Norway. ...
There was an awesome write-up on the IQA site here: http://www.internationalquidditch.org/2013/05/first-norwegian-quidditch-championship/  Sounds like things are still developing there, and there were some rough spots, but things are developing nicely. This is good news.  Each place where quidditch takes a foothold helps to further the sport.  It’s a great thing every time it spreads to a...

Maybe in your region you’ve had some difficulty with this, but in nearly every other region, merc teams are a big success.  I would give the opposite advice that you did here: create an opening for a merc team whenever possible.

A Snitch's Tribute to Seekers
Dear Seekers, Let’s be honest, our relationship is not exactly an amicable one.  You have one thing and one thing only on your mind when it comes to me: you just want my tail. One Week Since World Cup
It’s weird to think that a week ago at this time, I was in Florida, tossing seekers around to my heart’s content. One week ago, half the people in the sport were together, enjoying the greatest tournament in the history of quidditch.  I really wish I had a time-machine, because World Cup was one of the best weekends of my life. What World Cup Taught Us About Sportsmanship in...
Quidditch is at a crossroads of sorts.  We just had the highest level of competition ever seen at a World Cup, and there were very few “cupcake” teams at the tournament.  On the other hand, while the level of competition is high across the board, the standards of personal conduct at World Cup were anything but. There was no standard of behavior.  What one team thought was acceptable, a...

Rediscovering My Passion For Snitching
Most of you probably didn’t know this, but I was in semi-retirement from snitching for most of this season.  Before World Cup, I had snitched a grand total of two games this season, one at the Denver Quidpocalypse Tournament in September, and one between two merc teams at Snow Cup in January.  It’s not that I suddenly hated snitching, it was that I was the primary keeper for the...
